Locally, the beautiful forests and hills provide wonderful walking country with plenty of opportunities for bird watching, and horse riding and sea and river fishing are also readily available. Tighnbruaich's yachting and lovely sandy beaches are ever popular with visitors, whilst Inverary Castle and Jail (20 miles), the Younger Botanical Gardens and fascinating township museum at Auchendrain are all well worth exploring.
